If you assume a castle will come under siege and you plan to fight it yourself, then stick with some Rhodok sergeants as they'll generally do better vs everyone else (especially if you manually select for an all miltary hammer sergeant force (by killing off any cleaver users yourself). In terms of simulation, you want to pack your castle full of as many tier 0 recruits as possible because the ONLY thing a simulated siege cares about is numbers, the type/quality of troops has no impact if you aren't leading it yourself. That is of course assuming you actually fight the battle. Miltary Hammers wreck everything due to their ridiculously high damage for a blunt (and while not good vs heavies, the miltary cleavers are still at least competent close-range weapons), while those crappy spear-bill things the swadians have, have the same issues as all polearm type weapons, completely worthless in close range. Their gear is MUCH better.especially weapon choices, the proficiency difference is negliable and really only matters for ranged attackers, and even then it's not nearly as important as their gear (rhodok sharpshooters have the highest proficiency of any ranged, though only slightly more then Vaegir Marksmen.but their real strength is that they're ALSO equivilent to a teir 3 infantry when forced into melee range with decent melee weapons and tanky armor). I now take back every bad thing I said about Swadians even though it was them who started the damn war while we were already fighting khergits.Rhodok. After all those forest bandit layers I took out for him ) and swooped in with his 200 man army and chased off the rest of the siegers before they could finish me off. Then King Harlus replied back yes(Klargus said no, ungrateful bastard. However that left me with 27 xbows that weren't unconcious and I myself was pretty weakened from the previous battle. They managed to kill off my infantry and officers and all that were left standing was my xbow firing line that pretty much machine gunned them down before they could reach them.

I had managed to last long enough to wipe out the majority of their assault force with my crossbows down below shooting them in the back while my footman distracted. They began the siege with 500 troops against my 200(100 being swadian footmen and 50 crossbows the rest were my companions and knights/man at arms). Outnumbered, I sent two messages, one to King Harlus and the other to count klargus. The Rhodoks decided they were going to try to take praven from me. It REALLY opened my mind up to new tactics that should apply in Native, more than Huscarl/Swad Knight smash that is.).

I got back into my diplomacy/native after giving up on brytenwalda(major fps drop was just unplayable, great mod if your rig can handle it though. Your gonna have a major WTF moment when you hear this: I just got my ass saved by King Harlus.
